Approach and Findings

Team interactions to identify areas of improvement:

We had interactions with the core team to understand the business, challenges, current scale of planning and resources available to lead the different areas of business. We also had discussions with different stakeholders to understand the vision for each area of business.

Zeroing in on the Opportunity:

During the process, we understood the different areas such as Business Planning, Benchmarking, Marketing Agency Management, Hiring, SOPs & Policy setting, and Tech Project Management that Debox would champion, and other areas of work such as legal, operations, accounting were managed by other core team members.

Roadmap planning:

We created a pre-launch plan that was completely linked to the resources available, mapped dependencies, and set timelines for each activity. We also mapped activities to go-live progress date to optimise cost and resourcing requirements.

Work Done

Once we had an agreement on the roadmap, we started working on the different areas assigned to us.

We delivered the project the following during the project:

  • 1. Detailed geography and competitor study with details such as agility, marketing spend focus, and brand focus of competitors.
  • 2. Based on the business plan, we studied the different global markets, to identify top performing games and understood affinity of the population to suggest games for future launch.
  • 3. Detailed, fully linked and dynamic business plan with projected cash flows, marketing cohorts, and user count mapping.
  • 4. Organisation structure with bands, levels, hierarchy & locations. Created a manpower plan based on revenue projections based on benchmarked salaries.
  • 5. Job descriptions for all unique roles and HR policies for UAE and India.
  • 6. Led conversations with multiple media agencies for performance marketing, branding, offline branding, events, PR, etc. Validated pitch plans shared by these agencies to understand if it suits the business requirements.
  • 7. Project managed the website and app development with the tech team.

Outcome

Boom is now ready for a massive launch with strong product reliability and scalability. The management team is a lot more confident and clear on the business objectives, possible challenges & solutions, and the business plan.
